اس Tense کےجملوں کے آخر میں 'رہا تھا” 'رہے تھے” 'رہی تھی” وغیرہ لفظ آتے ہیں۔ اس زمانہ کے جملوں میں ایسے کام کا بیان ہوتا ہے جو ماضی میں چل رہا تھا۔
انگریزی میں ترجمہ کرنے کے طریقے
- (1) اس میں Was / Were کا استعمال ہوتا ہے اور Verb کی پہلی فارم میں ing لگاتے ہیں۔

- (2) واحد فاعل کے was ساتھ اور جمع فاعل کے ساتھ were کا استعمال کرتے ہیں۔
- (3) منفی جملوں یعنی Negative Sentences میں was/were کے بعد not آتا ہے۔
- (4) سوالیہ جملوں یعنی interrogative sentences میں was/were سبجیکٹ (subject)سے پہلے استعمال کیے جاتے ہیں۔
